Adrenaline, tricks, and a fantastic carnival atmosphere marked a snowboard Sunday at Platak, featuring a valuable prize fund and reaffirming its status as one of the most important snowboard competitions in the region.

Platak – The snowboard scene once again gathered at Platak, where the 15th Carnival Snowboard Session was successfully held on the slope next to the lift at the bottom of Radeševo. This event is one of the longest-running snowboard competitions in the region. Throughout the day, numerous spectators and fans followed the competitors, creating an excellent sporting and carnival atmosphere along the course.

The snowboard park on the largest ski slope in Croatia was specially prepared for the slopestyle discipline, featuring a series of elements that allowed competitors to showcase their technique, style, and creativity. This year again, the competition had an international character, with riders coming from Croatia, Russia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the event, runs alternated between qualification and final rounds across all categories, with performances judged by Vid Barić and Borna Obranović.

In the senior category, competitors fought for a prize fund of €1,000, while children and juniors were awarded medals, confirming the important role of younger age groups in the development of the snowboard scene. The best senior competitor in the men’s category was Ilia Baskakov, followed by Ožbe Kuhar in second place and Tino Stojak in third. In the women’s category, Nikolina Mišeta took first place, with Sanda Jeličić finishing second and Alida Mirković third.

In the junior category, Valen Peršun Nasufović claimed first place, Fabijan Vidaković finished second, and Antonio Antić took third. In the children’s category, the top three were Marko Kolar, Jakob Hace, and Gregor Jugo, while in the girls’ category first and second place were won by Tina Brumen Loboda and Đurđica Kolar.

The special Best Trick award – a Monster snowboard – was presented to Ilia Baskakov in memory of Robert Semion, serving as an emotional and significant part of this year’s edition. Awards were also given to the overall winners in the men’s and women’s categories, Tino Stojak and Nikolina Mišeta, based on the combined results from the Shred Summit Snowboard Cup on Sljeme and the 15th Carnival Snowboard Session at Platak.

The organizers from Snowboard Club Nine were especially pleased with the large audience turnout and strong support along the course. For the third year in a row, the competition for best supporter and most creative banner was held, while the fan corner with props further encouraged spectator participation. The great atmosphere throughout the day was maintained by host David Puharić and DJ Dog, who completed the carnival vibe of the event.

The Carnival Snowboard Session is realized with the support of the Rijeka Tourist Board, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Kvarner Tourist Board, the Čavle Municipality Tourist Board, the Gorski Sports Center, and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Ski Association.
